Yesterday, for our final class exhibit for Conceptual Photography class, I decided to put up a shrine for our president. I appropriated a really nice picture of her during her inauguration where she actually looks like a saint, with the presidential seal behind her head. I retouched the photograph a bit to make Ms. Gloria glow more and then I enlarged it. I hung it over the lobby of Ishmael Bernal gallery then placed a table in front. I also brought in some flowers and some eggs as an offering. I left the gallery for a while to attend to other errands, but when I came back later that afternoon, the eggs were gone. They had been thrown at the portrait. What the hell? This is supposed to be a shrine! Geez. UP students can be so disrespectful nowadays. Imagine, I had to clean all goo that before I left school. Shame!

OMG! That’s so funny. So much better than doing it on a real person. Sana nagdala ka na rin ng frying pan.

What are you talking about?? This is a shrine! I would have brought candles had I remembered before I left for school.

this made me remember of someone i know… she’s currently ranked 8th in the last nursing board exam… she was so disgusted of gma when malacanang announced that there should be a retake of the exam… she said… “bakit yung election din nama ah.. may dayaan din… bat yung board exam lang”.

You should have offered some tomatoes too. Lucky they did not burn the shrine.

And BTW, I like your guts ;-)

Nice thing! Haha! Made me laugh. really. Pero I think that those eggs really did hit the target.

Maybe some people thought you were asking them to pelt the eggs at the picture. I dunno.

    Nice blog, btw. :)

Why? Why GMA? Why eggs as offering? Geesh, I never thought that she’d look saintly, as you put it. I couldn’t help laughing. But then, sorry your shrine got pelted with eggs. Maybe people thought that it’s sort of asking for it. Maybe the portrait was so realistic that UP students thought it’s GMA in the flesh (and they couldn’t resist). I don’t know. Hehe. Oops, sorry. ^_^

Landed here because I’ve been getting a lot of hits about the egg pelting incident so I decided to see the results for myself. :)

  10. That is kind of shame they did that with the eggs. I think you should stick with flowers next time.
